How to Subscribe to the Tank Riot Podcast
Tank Riot is an audio podcast. Essentially, we record a show and upload it to the Internet in MP3 format. You can download the files from the show notes page. You then check our web site from time to time to see if we have uploaded any new shows. This works, but there is a better way. We also publish a RSS feed that you can subscribe to. Then by using podcatcher software, you can receive our shows automatically soon after we publish them.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. A publisher, like Tank Riot, uploads a RSS file to the Internet. A RSS file is an XML file which conforms to the RSS format. This file on the Internet is called a RSS feed. A subscriber to a RSS feed uses podcatching software to download new shows (podcasts) automatically. There are many different types of podcatching software products available. For example, Tor uses Bashpodder (as a cron job) while Viktor uses iTunes. As for Sputnik, it is probably best we don't know. For most, subscribing simply involves adding the Tank Riot RSS feed address (http://www.tankriot.com/rss.xml) to the feed list. Once you subscribe, you can be confident that you will recieve new Tank Riot episodes soon after they are published.
